Joshua Sobol, one of Israel's most celebrated authors and playwrights, studied at the Sorbonne, Paris, and graduated with a diploma in philosophy. Mr. Sobol has written more than 50 plays, among them: "Ghetto", "Adam", "The Soul of a Jew", "Kfar" (Village), "Night of the Twentieth", and others. He has published many novels, stories, plays and translations. Mr. Sobol also directs plays for theater. Among his directing works are "Ghetto", "The Merchant of Venice", and "Eye Witness". He has also written screenplays for television and cinema and two of his plays' "The Soul of a Jew" and "Ghetto" were chosen by the LMDA, (Literary Managers and Dramaturges of America), for the list of the best modern plays.
