Option 1: Jewish Communal Professional Program
This track offers participants the option of joining a program designed for visiting graduates students from a recognized USA university.
The focus of this course is the use of film as an engaging tool for Jewish Communal Professionals working in Jewish education and community programming.
Participants will:
· learn how to use films in educational and cultural programs
· acquire basic filmmaking skills
· create a personal short film (this film is often a reflection of the participant's Israel experience)
· explore the world of Jewish Cinema
This is a 5 month program that meets 1 day per week. Additional time may be required for filming and editing participants' films. Ma'aleh provides all required equipment.

Option 2: 5 Month Program in Jerusalem through Israel by Design:

In this program participants will:
· explore the world of Jewish Cinema
· acquire basic filmmaking skills
· learn how to use films in educational and cultural programs
· create a personal short film
This track is appropriate for anyone interested in filmmaking on a personal level as well as those who wish to explore film as a valuable tool in Jewish formal and informal education.
The program includes academic course work in the history and language of film and Jewish and Israeli cinema. Participants will also learn practical filmmaking skills in writing, producing, filming, directing, and editing.
This is a five month program (it can be expanded to a 10 month program) that meets 2 days per week (approximately 6 hours per day). Additional time may be required for filming and editing participants' films. Ma'aleh provides all required equipment. Ma'aleh requires a minimum of 10 participants to offer the course.
