A Holocaust survivor and his son, shut themselves in their home out of fear of the outside world. The boy lives a life of fear and solitude, peopled with interest and imagination. One day, when his father is not home, the boy opens the door and meets the neighbors’ daughter. The film raises questions of imagination and reality. It can be interpreted in different ways, and also raises questions about human behavior and who man’s greatest enemy is.
