Michal the director who lives in Israel, was born in Switzerland.  Her father is a 4th generation resident of the city of Basle.  Her mother, originally from Uruguay, settled in Basle after living in Israel.  In the Jewish community in Basle, Nissim and Tomer, two Yemenite immigrants raised in Israel, always stood out as strangers.  On a visit back home to Switzerland, Michal checks out issues of double identity and belonging, for herself and for the personalities she grew up with.
