Maaleh at the President's residence
Accessibility

This week the Maaleh Film School and its most recent Videotherapy group of bereaved mothers were guests of President and Mrs. Herzog at the President's residence in Jerusalem. In a special and moving event, the film that was written and performed by the mothers (all of whom lost their sons either at the Nova festival or in combat in the recent October 7th war), was screened for the president, his wife and over a hundred guests. After the screening the president invited each of the mothers to speak of their therapeutic process, as individuals and as a group, while making the film. President Herzog said he felt that the film should be seen in every household in Israel, and his wife Michal complimented the mothers on their willingness to share so authentically and honestly even the smallest nuances of the new reality they have had to face since the death of their sons.
The Maaleh Film School and its graduates continue to contribute their cinematic know-how and expertise to overcoming the very serious challenges of the present war, including care of the bereaved families, efforts to keep alive awareness of the hostages's plight, and benefitting the Israeli public image abroad.
