כל שנה ב"מעלה" נפתחת בשבוע לימודים לכלל תלמידי ביה"ס הנמשך חמישה ימים, ומורכב ממפגש עם יוצרים וסרטיהם, הרצאות עיוניות, וסדנאות מעשיות. בתשע"ז הוקרנו בין השאר "מעבר להרים ולגבעות" (+ הרצאת הבמאי ערן קולירין), "לעבור את הקיר" (+ הרצאת הבמאית רמה בורשטיין), "סופת חול" שייצג את ישראל באוסקר השנה (+ הרצאת המפיק חיים מקלברג) ועוד.
