בקורס נלמד כלים טכניים ותיאורטיים אשר יאפשרו לסטודנטים בנייה של שפה צילומית, גם ככלי לביטוי אישי וגם ככלי להעברת מסרים. במהלך הקורס נלמד מושגים בסיסיים בצילום כגון : אור, קומפוזיציה, חשיפה, צמצם, מהירות תריס, רגישות, שימוש בעדשות שונות ופרספקטיבה.
